Eros on DVD, starring Alan Arkin and Robert Downey Jr.
Three visionary directors. One erotic journey, called Eros. Italys legendary and controversial director Michelangelo Antonioni (Blowup, Zabriskie Point) is joined by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brockovich, sex, lies, and videotape) and Hong Kongs Wong Kar Wai, two of the most acclaimed filmmakers over the past decade, in this theatrical short-feature trilogy known collectively as Eros. The Hand by Wong Kar Wai traces the long and oddly erotic relationship between a shy tailor, played by Chang Chen (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), and his riches-to-rags client, Miss Hua (played by critically acclaimed actress Gong Li). Soderberghs piece of the Eros puzzle is titled Equilibrium and stars Robert Downey Jr. (Chaplin, Wonder Boys, Gothika) as a man sexually haunted by a woman in his dreams. Alan Arkin (The In-Laws, Edward Scissorhands, Four Days In September) plays the mysterious psychiatrist with a few secrets of his own. Antonionis The Dangerous Thread Of Things rounds out this triple-feature with Christopher Buchholz as a middle-aged American trapped in a loveless marriage with Italian wife Regina Nemni. Luisia Ranieri plays the young girl, Linda, who complicates matters further when her path crosses with both husband and wife. Now on DVD and Video!
